I am well aware of the tremendous power that storytelling holds. I consider it both an art and a highly skilled craft, capable of shaping individuals and communities in profound ways. Throughout my career, I have witnessed the lasting impact that only a select few stories can have on people’s personalities and beliefs, while countless others fade into obscurity. The impact of a story is greatly determined by the idea and approach behind it, and I am fully cognizant of the fact that storytelling can be utilized for both good and bad purposes. As a storyteller, it is my responsibility to make conscious decisions on how I will use this tool to create a positive impact in the world.
Here are a few tips for using storytelling to create impact:
Identify your audience
1. Before you begin crafting your story, it’s important to understand who your audience is and what they care about. This will help you create a story that resonates with them and makes them more likely to take action or change their own lives.
